Determining and recommending the ‘right’ type of life insurance plan and aligning it with the insurance need (e.g. Mortgage Protection, Family Protection, etc.) is arrived at through careful consultation with the client, a fact finding process and personal or business budgetary factors.

Disability Insurance


Disability

Disability Insurance coverage is commonly referred to as Income Replacement coverage. Long Term Disability Insurance plans protect one’s Annual Income in the event of an Injury or Sickness that precludes him/her from performing the substantial duties of their regular occupation. In such a scenario a Monthly Disability Income Benefit would be payable for each month that the person is unable to work in his/her profession.

Typically the Maximum Amount of Income Replacement coverage that a person can purchase is approximately 70% of their Annual Income if they are earning under $100,000 and approximately 50% of their Annual Income if they are earning over $100,000.

Monthly Disability Income Benefits could be payable as quickly as 30, 60 or 90 days after a disability occurs and if need be could be payable right up to Age 65 in the event of a catastrophic and permanent disability.

Critical Illness


Critical Illness

Critical Illness insurance coverage is a ‘relatively new’ type of insurance protection. Although it was introduced over 25 years ago (1993) to the Canadian marketplace, it is ‘relatively new’ when compared with life insurance coverage which has been available to the Canadian consumer for over a 150 years!

What is interesting to note is that an insurance company did not develop the concept of Critical Illness insurance, nor did a product specialist or head office marketing manager. The world famous heart surgeon, Dr. Marius Barnard designed Critical Illness Insurance. Dr. Barnard discovered that although he could save his patient’s lives as a surgeon, the ‘financial stress’ associated with surviving a life-altering illness, compounded by the need possibly to return to work before they were mentally and physically ready, was extremely counter-productive to the recovery process. The Solution: A policy that provides a Tax-Free lump sum payment after 30 days of a diagnosis of Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke or 21 other illnesses.

Our Vision

Our Vision

As the founder of GCA Insurance Solutions, Gregory C. Anast, began his career in 1993, with Manulife Financial as a Life Insurance Agent. He had the distinction of working with a Manulife Career Agency within the heart of the financial district of downtown Toronto, that secured the Top Spot in sales production that year in North America. This set the groundwork for an enriched sales experience that was effectively transitioned over to the independent broker’s market.

For the next 10 years, he was part of a successful team at a large Toronto independent national brokerage firm, with special interests in the group insurance market for professional Associations within Ontario and across Canada.

The decade to follow was served as a key player at his family-owned and operated multi-line insurance brokerage in the GTA, which was established in 1967 by his late-father.

During the latter half of his tenuure, as change was imminent, Greg was quoted as saying:

I wanted to leave my own distinct mark on the industry. I had a keen sense of what clients wanted and needed in an era of mass consumerism where client’s individual needs are often overlooked or disregarded. I felt that I could make a difference in that regard.

Therefore it was with great enthusiasm and a genuine sense of purpose that GCA Insurance Solutions was created and launched in the early part of 2014.

I trust that we can offer our clients the integrity, transparency and professionalism that they deserve in working with them to provide sound Insurance Solutions that will be of great value and benefit to them.
